Concept & ideas behind my tattoo art:

My works are influenced by the diversity of cultures and traditions, many folklores and legends, myths and epics from my country of origin, Indonesia. The diversity of the country’s cultures and beliefs have inspired me from the beginning when I started to learn tattoo by using many visual elements, concepts and ideas based on my heritage cultures, such as decorative and traditional motives, gods and goddesses, characters from some epics or shadow puppet characters, different tribal motives. Animism as one term to call the old nature religions in Indonesia, Hinduism and Buddhism influenced me as well.

I like many genre and styles of tattoos, but I try to specialize in the art of the archipelago Indonesia with diversity of culture, art and tradition. Decide to do more custom tattoo means that I need to be always able to design a tattoo that is unique to each client with my style of works. Personally I am into dark art and the morbid imagery not just into some certain dark music. So I put my influence and what I like a little bit into my tattoo art.

I enjoy being a tattooist and create works as a spiritual process and working to keep the tradition alive. To recall, be a part in re-animating and celebrate the ancient tribal cultures of Indonesia and share to the world.
